The Challenge


OnBoard joined Pledge 1% — a movement to inspire individuals and companies to donate 1% of their employee time, 1% of their product, service, or 1% of their profit to charitable causes throughout their community and across the globe. It’s fantastic they joined, yet they needed a way to track their impact and encourage employee engagement within the Pledge 1% movement.

Onboard is the first board intelligence platform. Their software solution makes it easier to coordinate, communicate and collaborate allowing boards to focus on realizing their ambitions for the organizations they govern.

Their corporate philanthropy was previously managed via Microsoft Teams and through many multiple emails. Not so enjoyable, rather difficult for employees to participate, & tough to track. Not to mention, the challenge in getting any insight into their efforts!

The Solution


OnBoard has over 200 employees, and launched Selflessly’s Employee Volunteer and Giving Software to coordinate, track, and celebrate their giving efforts. They even created a Corporate Social Responsibility Steering Committee. Through Selflessly, they created internal competition groups, and offered each employee 24 hours of paid volunteer time off.

The internal teams they created participate every quarter, and the team with the largest number of volunteer hours completed, either individually or together, receives additional funds to donate to the nonprofit of their choice.

OnBoard has seen 2x the level of engagement by implementing Selflessly. That’s a 100% increase in employee engagement in the CSR program! They have a simple tool through Selflessly to gauge participation, track volunteer hours, and get insights.
