SERVE INDIANA AND SELFLESSLY ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP

Indianapolis, IN: Serve Indiana and Indianapolis-based Certified B Corporation, Selfless.ly have announced a partnership. In response to the impact that CoVid-19 is having on nonprofits and charitable organizations, Selfless.ly is opening their platform to nonprofits at no cost. Serve Indiana and Selfless.ly have collaborated on this questionnaire for nonprofits.

According to Fast Company, nonprofit and charitable organizations are the third largest employer in the country. It is unclear that nonprofits are included in the national bailout. With the majority of our workforce “sheltering at home”, Selfless.ly will provide the opportunity for nonprofits to list their philanthropic tasks on the Selfless.ly platform to match up with individuals who wish to engage and help from home. The list of needs is long and includes such things as: a need for Spanish translators for after school program replacements that can help kids while they are at home, back end SEO work for nonprofit websites, mentors for businesses, animal foster care, and much more.

“Just because we are working from home doesn’t mean that we need to isolate ourselves from doing good to help others,” says Selfless.ly founder Josh Driver. “We feel obligated to help our community at this time, and our platform is one means of lifting our community.”

Selfless.ly, a turnkey corporate social responsibility platform, is the first of its kind to provide all the tools necessary for companies of any size to make a bigger impact in their community. Selfless.ly released its beta program to companies in Central Indiana and looks to make key hires in early 2020 in client success, engineering, and sales.

“This is a marvelous time to promote the Empathy Sector,” says Marc McAleavey, Executive Director of Serve Indiana. “The Empathy Sector provides self-assessment tools to employers to help with their volunteer deployment. We focus on transformations in communities and the sense of empathy for humanity. We expect a bold transformation to occur during the current pandemic. Based on common rhetoric today from corporate leaders — empathy is a relevant value.”

Selfless.ly’s platform is now available for nonprofits to engage with companies to empower their employees in workplace philanthropy. By giving choice to employees and seamlessly tracking & managing all corporate volunteering/giving, Selfless.ly is a natural choice for any philanthropic company. Selfless.ly won the 2018 Demo Day pitch at StartOut Chicago, was a finalist at Techpoint’s Mira awards for new tech startup of the year in 2019 and is a graduate of gBETA’s first Indiana cohort.

The Empathy Sector Process
Through signature partnerships with Selfless.ly and others, Serve Indiana will identify companies, nonprofit organizations, faith based organizations and communities that are committed to increasing empathy in their circles of influence. Those entities will sign a commitment to participate in The Empathy Sector, designate an internal Chief Service Officer to oversee the work, and grow empathy in a manner that works best for them. Serve Indiana will provide a self-assessment and resulting plan for each member of The Empathy Sector to gain a baseline of empathy in their community (i.e. corporate culture, neighborhood, congregation, etc.). Based on the results of that assessment, Serve Indiana will provide technical assistance, training, and external connections to support each member of the Empathy Sector and their efforts to increase empathy. A post-assessment will be administered which key objectives of their empathy plan have been achieved.
